5. Data security
Family Boxoffice takes all reasonable
steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse and loss and from
unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Personal Information
The Family
Boxoffice server is a dedicated unit housed within a locked and secure
environment and resides behind a secure Firewall. All personal information is
held on our secure server and only staff requiring this information for the
performance of their duties will have password secured access.
Credit Card details
All credit card
transactions are performed by our bank's servers and not on our equipment. Your
Credit Card details cannot be accessed by anyone other than our Bank and are
not stored on our servers. In the unlikely event of a hacker
compromising our security, none of your credit card details are available for
them to access.
Cookies
To protect your privacy, our
site does not employ the use of 'cookies'. Because we do not employ cookies to track
your movements on our site, we can not use some features found on other sites.
As an example, your shopping cart will not retain your purchases from one
session to another. While some features may not be available, on balance we felt
it was more important to protect the site security and your privacy.
Timeouts
All LOGIN sessions have an
automatic time out feature after 10 minutes of inactivity. This feature has been
implemented to protect your account and details from unauthorised use should you
have to leave your computer for longer than 10 minutes.

6. Openness
On request by a member, Family Boxoffice will take reasonable steps to let
the member know, generally, what sort of personal information it holds, for what
purposes, and how it collects, holds, uses and discloses that information.

7. Information Access and Correction
Family Boxoffice provides the member with access to their
own personal information for the purpose of correction or to update
changes, except to the extent that:
- the request for access is frivolous or vexatious; or
- the information relates to existing or anticipated legal proceedings
between the organisation and the individual, and the information would not be
accessible by the process of discovery in those proceedings; or
- providing access would reveal the intentions of the organisation in
relation to negotiations with the individual in such a way as to prejudice those
negotiations; or
- providing access would be unlawful; or
- denying access is required or authorised by or under law; or
- providing access would be likely to prejudice an investigation of
possible unlawful activity; or
- providing access would be likely to prejudice the prevention, detection, investigation, prosecution or punishment of
criminal offences, breaches of a law imposing a penalty or sanction or breaches
of a prescribed law; or
- the enforcement of laws relating to the confiscation of the proceeds of
crime; or
- the prevention, detection, investigation or remedying of seriously
improper conduct or prescribed conduct; or
- the preparation for, or conduct of, proceedings before any court or
tribunal, or implementation of its orders;
- by or on behalf of a law enforcement body; or
- an enforcement body performing a lawful security function asks the
Family Boxoffice not to provide access to the information on the basis that
providing access would be likely to cause damage to the security of
Australia.
However, where providing access would reveal evaluative information
generated within the organisation in connection with a commercially sensitive
decision-making process, Family Boxoffice may give the individual an explanation
for the commercially sensitive decision rather than direct access to the
information.
If an individual member is able to establish that the information is not accurate, complete
and up-to-date, Family Boxoffice will take reasonable steps to correct the
information so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
Family Boxoffice will provide reasons for denial of access or a refusal to
correct personal information.
